Moruya, New South Wales – The Moruya community is mourning the loss of Roger Nicol, a cherished life member of the Moruya Sharks Rugby League Football Club (RLFC). Nicol passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.

Roger Nicol was an integral part of the Moruya Sharks RLFC, contributing to the club’s success over the years. His passing has left a significant void in the community, particularly among those who knew him as both a teammate and a friend.

Moruya Sharks RLFC shared their grief on social media, stating, "Yesterday, we lost one of the greats of our club. Life member Roger Nicol passed away peacefully surrounded by those closest to him. Our thoughts are with Gerri and the rest of Roger’s family. Rest easy, old mate."

Tributes poured in from the community, reflecting Nicol’s impact on those around him. Elise Paull expressed her condolences, saying, "RIP Roger, back with Shannon x," while Phyllis Arnold noted, "R.I.P.
