Taunton, MA – The community is mourning the passing of Deaconess Ugocgukwu Joy Odenigbo, affectionately known as “Sis Ugo.” Known for her deep faith, kindness, and commitment to her church and community, Deaconess Odenigbo’s death has left a significant void in the hearts of many.
Deaconess Odenigbo, a beloved member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) EWA, was a beacon of hope and a source of joy for those who knew her. Her life was marked by her unwavering dedication to God, her family, and her community. She is survived by her husband and twin daughters, who now face the difficult task of continuing without her guiding presence.
A GoFundMe campaign has been organized by Wole Babalola to honor Deaconess Odenigbo and support her family during this challenging time. The fundraiser, created yesterday, aims to raise $25,000 to cover burial arrangements and to ensure the well-being and education of her children. So far, $750 has been raised through five donations, showing the community’s early support.
Dayo Oluwagbule, a member of the community, shared his sorrow on Facebook, stating, "Rest in Peace sister Ugo. Thank you for being a joy giver. My daughters are definitely going to miss the Sunday Sunday candies and the beautiful pictures you often take without even asking you." He encouraged others to donate to the fundraiser to help provide Deaconess Odenigbo with a befitting burial.
