Niagara Falls Community Concerned for Matthew Powell’s Safety as Police Search Intensifies

Matthew Powell, Niagara Falls, Ontario – The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) has launched a missing person investigation in Niagara Falls, focusing on the whereabouts of 27-year-old Matthew Powell. Matthew was last seen around 5 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in the area of Drummond Road and Dunn Street.

Described as 5’4” tall, weighing 150 pounds, with braided hair and tattoos on his neck, Matthew was last seen wearing black pants, no shirt, and multicolored shoes. He is believed to be traveling on foot, and both the police and his family have expressed deep concern for his welfare.

The NRPS urges anyone with information on Matthew’s location to contact them at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009346. For those wishing to provide information anonymously, Crime Stoppers of Niagara is offering cash rewards for tips that lead to an arrest.

The community has also taken to social media to express their worries and hopes for Matthew’s safe return. Agnes Lang posted, “Prayers he found safe!!!” while Susan Rosebrugh shared, “Sending Prayers that is found safe.” Elisabeth Marianna Senese mentioned, “Ya, apparently there’s a white van going around offering candy to grown men,” highlighting the concern over potential dangers in the area.

The search for Matthew Powell continues, with the community and authorities working together to ensure his safe return.
