North New Hyde Park Mourns the Impending Loss of Celena Vitalo, Family Launches Fundraiser to Cover Funeral Expenses

Celena Vitalo, North New Hyde Park, NY – The community is coming together to support the family of Celena Vitalo, who is currently under hospice care due to a severe battle with cancer. The Vitalo family, known for their deep ties to the community, is facing the heart-wrenching reality of making final arrangements for Celena as her condition deteriorates.

Celena, a devoted worker in sales who hadn’t taken a vacation in over twenty years, was known for her unwavering dedication and her love for animals, particularly the family dogs who were treated to luxury meals. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer that had metastasized to her liver, spleen, and lungs, causing her excruciating pain. Despite this, she remained the "glue" of her family, always ensuring everyone was taken care of.

In light of this devastating news, Emily McKenna has organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Honoring Celena Vitalo: A Service of Love" to help cover the anticipated funeral expenses. The fundraiser has set a goal of $10,000, of which $125 has been raised so far through two donations. The family hopes to also contribute any remaining funds to the ASPCA and cancer research, causes that were close to Celena’s heart.

Scott McKenna, a close family friend, shared his thoughts on Facebook, urging friends and family to contribute. "Please take some time to read this and consider contributing to our GoFundMe. There are NO donations too small; every dollar will help so that we can provide the services that Celena so deserves," he wrote, reflecting the urgency and emotion surrounding this effort.

As the community rallies around Celena and her loved ones, her legacy as a caring, selfless individual who touched the lives of many will undoubtedly continue to resonate.
