Kristian Larsen, a 68-year-old experienced mariner from Darwin, Northern Territory, has been missing for several months, prompting concerns from the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services. Larsen, who embarked on a solo sailing journey to Mexico in August 2023 aboard his yacht, the Kehaar, has not been heard from since November 2023. His last known location was in Rabaul, Papua New Guinea, where he reported that his vessel was in good condition and that he had five months’ worth of supplies.

Larsen had been maintaining intermittent contact with friends in Darwin through email, but communication ceased after his last message in November.
