Oakland, CA – Tragedy struck the Oakland community as 31-year-old Alexander Zagarino was identified as the fatal victim in a devastating two-truck collision that occurred over the weekend. The incident took place on Friday evening along Highway 44, west of Ally Gold Way in Shingletown, California.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash occurred when a Nissan Frontier, traveling westbound on State Route 44, crossed the double yellow lines and collided head-on with an eastbound GMC Sierra pickup truck. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the driver of the Nissan Frontier, identified as Alexander Miller Zagarino, pronounced dead on-site.
The collision also involved two other individuals, Thomas Stewart, 43, and Jennifer Stewart, 38, who were passengers in the GMC Sierra. Both were transported to Mercy Medical Center with injuries that ranged from minor to severe.
Authorities have confirmed that Zagarino’s family has been notified of his tragic passing. His body has been transported to a facility where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
