Ongoing Search for Kathleen M. Wilson, Missing 69-Year-Old from McMinnville, Oregon

Kathleen M. Wilson, 69, of McMinnville, Oregon, remains missing after an extensive week-long search. Authorities and her community are growing increasingly concerned as the investigation continues without any significant breakthroughs.

Wilson was last seen on August 5, 2024, after leaving Myrtle Creek around 6:00 AM. She was driving her 2012 Chevy Cruz, bearing Oregon license plate 747EDB, en route to visit a friend in Chiloquin, Oregon. Her vehicle was last spotted passing through the Dry Creek area on Highway 138 East at approximately 7:34 AM that morning. Since then, there has been no sign of Wilson or her vehicle.

The Myrtle Creek Police Department, supported by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, Forest Service Law Enforcement, and firefighting crews, has conducted an exhaustive search. However, thick smoke from nearby wildfires hindered aerial search efforts, making it even more difficult to locate Wilson.

Authorities believe it is likely that Wilson became lost in the vast wilderness off Highway 138 East, a region known for its dense forest and challenging terrain. Despite the obstacles, the investigation remains active, and the case will not be closed until Wilson is found.

Multiple agencies have been alerted, and Wilson’s information has been shared across several counties. Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) reader boards on various state highways are displaying Be On The Lookout (BOLO) notices. The public is urged to remain vigilant, especially those traveling or recreating near the North Umpqua Highway.

Facebook users have actively participated in spreading awareness and offering suggestions. Shirley Ochoa pointed out unusual details in the last known photos of Wilson, while Terry Ellen urged authorities to use highway alerts. Nicole Jones suggested seeking assistance from OnStar, and Kathy Tompkins recommended checking with Wilson’s insurance company for tracking possibilities.

The Myrtle Creek Police Department is asking anyone with information that could assist in locating Kathleen M. Wilson to call 541-440-4471 immediately. The community’s help is crucial in bringing her home safely.
