Pennsylvania State Police Lead Search for Missing Deerfield Township Man, David Murdock, Swept Away by Flood Waters

Deerfield Township, Pennsylvania – The Pennsylvania State Police have launched an active search for David Murdock, a 66-year-old man who has been missing since August 9, 2024, in Tioga County. Murdock was last seen around 1:30 p.m. near State Route 249 in Deerfield Township, wearing an orange t-shirt, gray shorts, a white baseball hat, and muck boots.

The search, which includes state police, local agencies, and volunteers, intensified after reports indicated that Murdock was swept away by floodwaters caused by severe storms that hit the region last week. Authorities believe that Murdock may be at special risk of harm or injury.

David Murdock is described as a 6-foot tall white male with gray hair and brown eyes. The Pennsylvania State Police urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Mansfield Barracks at 570-662-2151 or call 911 immediately.

The situation has drawn attention on social media, with many expressing their concerns and hopes for his safe return. A post from the Facebook group "Voices of the Missing and Unidentified in America" highlighted the ongoing search and urged the community to share any information that could assist in locating David Murdock.
