Petaluma, California – Leo Marquez, a beloved resident of Petaluma, has tragically passed away on August 27, 2024, at the age of 68 due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Leo was known in the community as a devoted, hardworking, and respectful man who touched the lives of many around him.
His daughter, Alondra Marquez, has organized a fundraiser to help cover the costs of Leo’s funeral, as the family was unprepared for the sudden expense. The fundraiser, titled "Help Us Honor Leo Marquez’s Memory," has raised $615 of its $22,000 goal so far, with contributions from eight donors.
Alondra shared her grief and the family’s request for support, stating, "We are all devastated by his sudden loss and we’re not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. Our Dad was a devoted, hard-working, respectful man, and as his family, we would like to give him the memorial he deserves."
The fundraiser has seen donations from friends, family, and members of the community, including a $200 contribution from Rebecca Lopez, $40 from Cadence Larson, and $50 from Arianna Maier-Araiza.
The Marquez family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of support during this difficult time. They have expressed their appreciation for every donation and prayer, which they hope will give them the strength to move forward without the presence of their beloved Leo.
Those wishing to contribute can do so through the fundraiser page, with all proceeds going toward covering Leo Marquez’s funeral expenses.
