Plattsburgh Community Mourns the Loss of Alison Ledwith as Fundraiser Launched for Her Family’s Support

Alison Ledwith, Plattsburgh, New York – The community is rallying to support the family of Alison Ledwith, who passed away on Tuesday morning after a long battle with scleroderma and other autoimmune illnesses. Alison, known for her dedication to advocating for others and spreading awareness of autonomic dysfunction, was deeply loved by her family and the Plattsburgh community.

A GoFundMe fundraiser, organized by Alison’s youngest sibling, Sara Ledwith, has been launched to support Alison’s daughters, Kailah and Karli Easton, and her loving partner, John Easton, as they navigate this difficult time. The fundraiser, titled "Support for Kailah, Karli, and John in Memory of Alison," aims to raise $5,000 to assist with the funeral expenses and provide financial support for her family.

Sara expressed the family’s profound loss, saying, "Our family experienced the unimaginable—the loss of a mother, sister, partner, daughter, and aunt." She hopes the fundraiser will not only help with the immediate financial needs but also continue Alison’s mission to spread awareness about autonomic dysfunction and related illnesses.

As of Wednesday, August 21, 2024, the fundraiser has raised $625 from five donations. Contributions include $25 from Rheannon Croy, $150 from Ian Spear, $100 from Katie Perrone, $50 from Kamie Fretwell, and $100 from Sara Ledwith.

Community members have also taken to social media to express their condolences and support. Marie King posted on Facebook, "Please donate if you can. She deserves a beautiful service to be laid to rest."

Alison’s love for her community, family, and the Adirondacks was well-known. Whether berry picking, fishing in the lake and rivers, or simply enjoying the sunshine, she found peace in nature. The community’s response to the fundraiser highlights the deep impact Alison had on those around her and the collective desire to honor her memory.

Memorial arrangements will be shared by the family as soon as they are made.
