Derry City, Strabane – The police are increasingly concerned for the welfare of Michael MacCrossan, known to many as "Mickey," who has been reported missing since Sunday night. Michael was last seen in the Altnagelvin area of the city at approximately 10:50 PM on August 18, 2024. The police are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.
Michael’s current clothing is unknown, which adds to the difficulty of locating him. The police have requested that anyone with information contact them using reference number 81-19/08/24.
The community has rallied on social media, sharing thoughts and prayers for Michael’s safe return. Nichola Mc Granaghan posted, "Shared! Hope Mickey is found safe and well!" while Sheila Arkinson added, "Praying he is found safe and well."
Tania Mc Garrigle, who seems to know Michael personally, expressed her concern, "Aww wee Mickey, I know this man very well." Meanwhile, Corin Kelly Herron questioned whether additional rescue efforts had been deployed, asking, "Has lowland rescue been deployed?"
Numerous others echoed these sentiments, including Veronica McCallion who wrote, "God bless him, hope he’s found soon," and Susan Cooke who shared, "Hope he found safe and well."
