Randal G. Abraham, Redwood City Resident, Dies in Tragic Plane Crash at Minden-Tahoe Airport

Minden-Tahoe Airport, Nevada – Randal G. Abraham, a 68-year-old resident of Redwood City, California, tragically lost his life in a fatal plane crash on Tuesday morning, August 20, 2024. The accident occurred shortly after 8:15 a.m. when the experimental, amateur-built Lockwood Air Cam aircraft he was piloting crashed in the middle of the runway at Minden-Tahoe Airport. Authorities have confirmed that Abraham was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sole passenger aboard the aircraft, 52-year-old Brandt Wood from Gardnerville, Nevada, was injured in the crash and was transported to Renown by East Fork Fire for medical treatment. The extent of Wood’s injuries has not been disclosed.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is currently investigating the cause of the crash.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office released a statement confirming the identity of the deceased pilot and the injured passenger. The news of Abraham’s death has deeply affected the community, and several people took to social media to express their condolences.

Rosanne Nevarez commented, "My deepest condolences to the gentleman’s family."

Susan Welch Samuelson wrote, "Praying for the families. Was there also someone injured on the ground as well?"

Sharyon Katsaris shared her support, saying, "Prayers to the family, prayers for the injured."

As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of Randal G. Abraham and hopes for the recovery of Brandt Wood.
