Waldorf, Maryland – The community is mourning the sudden loss of Ricardo "Rick" Shepherd, who passed away unexpectedly on the night of August 20, 2024. Known affectionately as Ricky, Rick, or Shep, he was surrounded by his son, daughter, and close family members during his final moments.
Rick Shepherd, remembered for his humor, kindness, and thoughtfulness, touched the lives of many who knew him. His passing has left his family and friends heartbroken. To help cover the funeral and memorial service expenses, as well as to provide immediate support to his children, DaeVaun and Kaelyn, a GoFundMe fundraiser has been organized.
The fundraiser, set up by Dionna Harris, has a goal of $7,500. As of now, $400 has been raised from four donations. Contributions include $50 from Jennifer Taff, $50 from an anonymous donor, $200 from Deshanta Sullivan, and $100 from Natasha Baker.
DaeVaun, a senior in college, and Kaelyn, a senior in high school, are deeply grateful for the support they have received so far. The funds raised will help ease the financial burden during this difficult time.
Dionna Harris posted on Facebook, urging friends and family to donate: “Hey family and friends, we are in need of your support. During this very difficult time, if you can find it in your heart to donate, we would greatly appreciate it. Let’s help DaeVaun and Kaelyn honor their father.”
