Sabrina Giglio Tragically Passes Away After House Fire, Community Rallies for Support

Bowie, Maryland – Sabrina Giglio, a beloved member of the Bowie community, tragically passed away following a devastating house fire on August 21, 2024. Despite sustaining multiple injuries, Sabrina succumbed to her injuries on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 4:36 p.m. Her passing was marked by a stormy sky, with lightning and thunder accompanying her final moments.

In her final act of service, Sabrina donated her liver, saving another person’s life, leaving a lasting legacy of heroism and compassion.

The community has responded with an outpouring of love and support for Sabrina’s family. A fundraiser organized by Lauren Giglio has been established to help cover funeral and medical expenses and to support Sabrina’s children, Gregory, Andrew, Alex, and Gina. As of today, the fundraiser has raised $770 out of its $10,000 goal, with donations continuing to come in.

Several individuals have expressed their condolences and prayers on social media. Lauren Giglio shared the heartbreaking news, stating, “We have had an outpour of love and prayer from our community to rally around family during this time. We are in the process of making service arrangements and will share once we confirm dates.”

Friends and community members also shared their sentiments. Maci Matherne Bourgeois commented, “So many prayers send y’all’s way,” while Nikki Deitrich asked, “Lauren Giglio, may I share?” Others, like Mary Milardovic Crljen, expressed, “Sincerest condolences to you and your family.”

Cindy McGee, Whitney Sussex, and Sharon Carr were among others who shared their prayers and condolences, with Sharon Carr adding, “Rest in peace, beautiful.”

The family is deeply grateful for the support they have received and will be providing further updates on the service arrangements. Sabrina’s life and final act of heroism will be remembered by all who knew her.
