Sam Roary Arrested in Connection with the Murder of Glandina Dixon in North Charlotte, Community Reacts to Tragic Loss

Charlotte, North Carolina – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has arrested 53-year-old Sam Roary as a suspect in the murder of 47-year-old Glandina Dixon. The tragic incident occurred late Saturday night, August 17, on Trailer Drive, near Interstate 85. Police responded to a call shortly after 11 p.m. and found Dixon unconscious, suffering from significant trauma. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following a swift investigation, detectives identified and apprehended Roary on Sunday, August 18. He was arrested by the department’s SWAT team and taken to the Uptown Charlotte Law Enforcement Center for questioning. After the interview, Roary was charged with murder and is currently in custody at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
