San Diego, California – JC Adame, a beloved father, grandfather, and longtime employee of General Dynamics NASSCO, tragically lost his life on Monday, August 12, 2024, while working at the NASSCO shipyard in San Diego. The accident occurred when an object fell and struck Adame, who was working as a pipefitter at ground level. Despite immediate emergency response efforts, Adame died at the scene.

The incident is currently under investigation by Cal/OSHA and local authorities, with the NASSCO facility cooperating fully. The details of what caused the object to fall have not yet been disclosed.

JC Adame, who had dedicated nearly 30 years of his life to NASSCO, was recognized by both his family and his employer for his commitment and hard work. Adame’s daughter, Isabelle, shared that her father was a proud grandfather of six and a father of four. His passing has left a significant void in their lives.

In the wake of this tragedy, Jillian Stewart, a close friend of the Adame family, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support the family during this difficult time. Stewart wrote on the GoFundMe page, "JC Adame was the patriarch of their family, leaving behind a loving wife, four children, 6 grandchildren, beloved family, friends, and co-workers all too soon. Please help me by supporting his beautiful family in their time of grief, so that they can focus on each other during this time."

NASSCO has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Adame. In a statement, Dave Carver, president of General Dynamics NASSCO, said, "No amount of condolences can fully express our heartfelt sorrow to JC’s family, friends, and all who knew him. As a pipefitter in the Repair Department, JC was a valuable member of our team for many decades – he will truly be missed."
