Santa Clara Community Urged to Help Find Missing Woman Renata Lopes, Last Seen on Main Street

Renata Lopes, a 52-year-old resident of Santa Clara, California, has been missing since Saturday, August 17, 2024. Renata was last seen leaving her home on Main Street for a neighborhood walk around 11:30 a.m. She was wearing a blue or green t-shirt with an unknown logo and blue jean pants cut off at the knee. Renata has green eyes, blonde hair, stands 5’6” tall, and weighs approximately 160 pounds. She did not have her phone or wallet with her at the time.

The Santa Clara Police Department has issued an alert, describing Renata as an at-risk missing adult. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact them immediately by calling 911.

The community has responded with concern and support. Ed Morrison, a Santa Clara resident, posted on Facebook, asking neighbors to keep an eye out for Renata and to report any sightings to the police. Judy, another local, shared the police department’s message, echoing the plea for help in locating Renata.

Barbara Thorne, a friend of Renata’s, took to Facebook to request assistance from her friends and EMS colleagues around the Bay Area. "Please repost this in hopes it can reach as many around the Santa Clara, CA area as possible," she urged, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

Other community members have also expressed their concern. Darty Werner commented, "I’m so sorry. I’ll share." Meaghan E. Kaniuth asked, "Any update???" while Jan Lynne Peterson expressed her worries, saying, "Sorry Barb, hope she’s not trafficked or drugged against her will."

As the search for Renata continues, the Santa Clara community remains on high alert, hoping for her safe return.
