Search Continues for Missing 8-Year-Old Adeng Joseph Tong Tong in Warrap State

Warrap State, South Sudan – An eight-year-old girl named Adeng Joseph Tong Tong has been missing for nearly a week, causing deep concern among her family and the local community. Adeng disappeared between Akhon of Warrap State and Wanyjok, Aweil East County. She was last seen at her aunt Abuk Tong’s house, where she had been taken to help with minor domestic duties.

Adeng was staying with her grandmother in Machar Mou before being taken to Akhon. According to reports, she attempted to return to her grandmother’s house but lost her way. There have been no reports of her being mistreated, but her failure to return has left her family increasingly worried about her safety.

The family has called on residents of nearby areas, including Peeth Lou, Majak Awar, Malual Bai, Madhol Yor, and Malualkhon, to assist in the search. They believe Adeng might be stranded in one of these locations. Aweil News Agency reported the family’s plea for information regarding Adeng’s whereabouts. Those who might have seen Adeng or have any information are encouraged to contact the family at the provided phone numbers.

Community members have expressed their concern and hope for Adeng’s safe return on social media. Joe Kuot’o commented, "May the angels of God keep her safe wherever she is, she will be found soon." Another community member, Kuol Kuol Mayar, wrote, "They will definitely find her in the name of Jesus Christ." Geng Deng added, "May Allah bring her back safely to the family besides that, we need to quit the culture taking children for domestic duties rather than studies."

These sentiments reflect the community’s shared concern for Adeng’s safety and the broader issue of children’s welfare. The search for Adeng continues, and her family remains hopeful that she will be found safe and returned to her loved ones soon.
