Search Intensifies for Missing 14-Year-Old Angel Varo Jr. from Gila River Indian Community, Last Seen in Mesa, AZ

Mesa, Arizona – The Gila River Police Department, in collaboration with the Mesa Police Department, is urgently seeking the public’s help in locating 14-year-old Angel Varo Jr., who has been missing since July 29, 2024. Angel, a resident of the Gila River Indian Community, was last seen in Mesa, Arizona.

Angel is described as 5’7" tall, weighing approximately 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts, and a silver chain. Notably, Angel has a distinctive "2009" tattoo on his right forearm.

The Gila River Police Department has issued a missing person alert and has been actively working with local authorities to locate Angel. They urge anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact them immediately at (520) 562-4511. Information can also be texted to 911.

The community has rallied on social media, expressing their concern and prayers for Angel’s safe return. Ronda Hanning shared a post stating, "ANGEL VARO JR – MESA AZ – MISSING 7-29-24," alongside detailed descriptions of his appearance. Kellie Doty also added, "Prayers…in Jesus Holy name…amen."

As the search continues, the Gila River Indian Community and surrounding areas remain hopeful for Angel’s safe return. The police department has limited comments on their posts to manage the sensitive nature of the situation.

Anyone with information is urged to step forward as the search for Angel Varo Jr. continues.
