Lethbridge, Alberta – The search for 40-year-old Aldea Margret Tillmans has intensified as new information suggests she may be somewhere between the Grand Forks Campground and Medicine Hat along the South Saskatchewan River. Tillmans, who was last seen on August 9, has not been in contact with her family since, prompting concerns for her well-being.
On Monday, Tillmans’ dark blue BMW X5 SUV was located near a boat launch in the Taber area, but her kayak, which was previously attached to the vehicle, was missing. The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are working together to search the river, asking local landowners and recreational users to be vigilant.
Tillmans is believed to be kayaking down the river in a blue and white open-top kayak with “Zaleska” written on the side. She is described as a Caucasian female, approximately 5’7” tall, weighing between 140-160 lbs, with brown eyes and long brown hair. Notable tattoos include a paw on her left leg and a heart with the word “sisters” on her right arm above the elbow.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen Tillmans or had contact with her to call 403-328-4444 or their local police agency.
On Facebook, Marissa Loewen expressed her concern, urging, “This is super important. If my Alberta and particularly Lethbridge folks have seen Maggie, can you give the Lethbridge Police a call? Maggie is family. So any shares to the original post found on the page below would be great.”
Authorities continue to search diligently, with no evidence of foul play, but the urgency to locate Tillmans remains high as her loved ones and community await news.
