Glacier National Park, Montana – The search continues for 32-year-old Grant Marcuccio, who has been missing since August 18, 2024. Marcuccio, who separated from his hiking party while trekking from Heavens Peak to McPartland Peak, was last seen around noon on Sunday. Park rangers were notified later that evening, and a search operation was promptly launched.
Grant Marcuccio, a seasoned climber known by friends and colleagues, was described as 6 feet tall, weighing 175 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was possibly wearing brown shorts and a brown and white checkered shirt when he was last seen.
As the search enters its fourth day, social media has been flooded with messages of concern and hope from those who know Marcuccio.
Cora Erb, who worked with Grant at Crater Lake, expressed her shock, saying, "What! I know this guy. I worked with him at Crater Lake. Come on Grant, you got this!!!"
Many others have shared their prayers and hopes for his safe return. Luce Bo wrote, "Praying for a safe return!" Similarly, Shari Fichman, Maggie Tillinghast, and 4&20 Blackbyrds echoed the sentiment with their posts, "Praying for your safe return," and "Prayers for a safe return."
While some social media users remain hopeful, others have expressed concern over the amount of time that has passed. Russ Viciedo, a seasoned hiker of Glacier National Park, remarked, "I have packed Glacier extensively since the 80’s…sadly, after this much time, he is likely bear food."
There have been some reports circulating on social media that Marcuccio may have been found safe. Jackie Brenton mentioned, "I think there was an article about TwoBearAir finding him alive and well," while Carolyn Hall Photography added, "I thought he was located alive by Two Bear Air."
