Search Underway for Missing Paraplegic Man, Michael Clay Surrency, Last Seen in Mulberry, Florida

Mulberry, Florida – Authorities are intensifying their search for 28-year-old Michael Clay Surrency, who was last seen on August 19, 2024. Michael, a paraplegic, was driving a vehicle equipped with a steering wheel column for handicap driving capabilities when he disappeared. The circumstances of his disappearance remain unclear, raising concerns among family and law enforcement.

Michael, described as a 5’10" white male weighing 180 pounds, has black short hair and is known to have unknown tattoos on his torso. His disappearance was officially reported on the same day, and a case was immediately created in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs).

As of today, August 22, 2024, there have been no significant leads in Michael’s case. He was last seen in Mulberry, a small town in Polk County, Florida. The authorities and his loved ones are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Michael’s case is particularly concerning due to his paraplegic condition, which requires specialized driving equipment, making it crucial to locate him quickly. The community is on high alert, and efforts to find Michael are ongoing.
