Shane Decker, Beloved Morris, MN Grandfather, Dies in Tragic Car Accident; Community Mourns His Loss

Shane Decker, a resident of Morris, Minnesota, tragically lost his life in a car accident on Saturday, August 9, 2024. The 50-year-old was a well-known figure in the community, having served as the Regional Director at Vertin Company and previously as the Market Director. Decker was a dedicated family man, deeply loved by his family and friends.

Funeral arrangements have been made, with a service set for Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Morris Area Elementary School Concert Hall. A visitation will take place the day before, on Wednesday, from 3 to 7:00 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, followed by a prayer service and time of sharing at 7:00 p.m. The burial will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.

The news of Shane Decker’s passing has left the community in shock and grief. On Facebook, numerous friends and family members have expressed their sorrow and shared their memories. Lisa Heinert posted, "My head and heart can’t comprehend this, I am so sad for all who loved Shane Decker and called him friend. Such a funny, bigger than life, family-loving, big-hearted guy. He will be so, so missed!"
