Sherman Kealii Hawaiiloa Akina, 28, Tragically Passes Away in Car Accident, Fundraiser Launched for Cremation Costs

Deer Park, Washington – The community is rallying to support the family of Sherman Kealii Hawaiiloa Akina, a 28-year-old who tragically lost his life in a car accident. A fundraiser has been launched by Selina Reynolds to help cover the cremation costs and other expenses related to the untimely death of Akina.

As of Wednesday, August 21, 2024, $40 has been raised towards the $2,000 goal. Selina Reynolds, who is organizing the fundraiser, shared that Akina left behind two daughters, a fiancée, a sister, a brother, his mother, and numerous other relatives and friends who are mourning his loss.

The news of Akina’s passing has deeply affected those who knew him, with many taking to Facebook to express their grief. Kyle Turner wrote, “Rip Sherman Kealii Hawaiiloa Akina you were a great friend to have you helped me realize a lot a real shit in life, help me through so much, even put my own kids in his thoughts and prayers. Fly high fly loud fly fast. Love you brother.”

Another friend, Sky Savage, shared their sorrow, saying, “IM TORE UP ABOUT IT MANNN FAWKKKK my best fuckin frien suck a good Heart AN PURE SOUL.”

The tragedy has left Akina’s friends and family in shock, with Kyle Turner adding, “I got no sleep I haven’t ate I’m still just pacing my house as we speak I don’t want to believe it.”

The fundraiser organized by Reynolds is an effort to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by Akina’s family during this difficult time. The community is encouraged to contribute and help the family honor Akina’s memory.

Those wishing to support the fundraiser can do so through the GoFundMe page set up by Selina Reynolds. The funds will go towards covering the cremation costs and retrieving Akina’s vehicle from the towing company.
