Silver Alert Issued for 80-Year-Old Allan Altobell Missing from Old Orchard Beach, Maine

Old Orchard Beach, Maine – A Silver Alert has been issued by the Old Orchard Beach Police Department for 80-year-old Allan Altobell, who has been missing since Friday, August 9, 2024. Mr. Altobell, who suffers from cognitive issues, was last seen leaving his home on Eden Road on foot at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Friday. He has not been seen since, prompting concern from both his family and the local community.

Mr. Altobell is described as a white male, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 158 pounds, with white hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray crew neck sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black dress shoes. In addition to the alert issued by local authorities, the community has been actively sharing information and searching for him, particularly around the Memorial Park area of Old Orchard Beach, where he was last reported.

Community members have taken to social media to express their concern and to help spread the word about Mr. Altobell’s disappearance. Claudette Clements shared the alert, expressing her hope for his safe return. Debbie McNeal urged authorities to use a tracking dog, recalling a lady in Bar Harbor who had a search dog that could be useful in situations like this.

Nancy Oliveri McDougal expressed her concern, commenting, "Prayers he is found safe." Meanwhile, James Mondor suggested that people walk the sides of the railroad tracks towards Saco and Pine Point in hopes of finding Mr. Altobell. Ann Jackson and Valerie Page were quick to correct information online, ensuring that the correct details about Mr. Altobell’s identity were circulated.

In addition to the community’s efforts, the Old Orchard Beach Police Department is urging anyone with information about Mr. Altobell’s whereabouts to contact them at 207-934-4911. The urgency of the situation has rallied the local community, with many driving around the area and searching for any signs of the missing man.

As the search continues, the hope remains that Mr. Altobell will be found safe and returned to his family.
