Sonja Skaggs of Radcliff, KY, Passes Away; Family Seeks Community Support for Funeral Costs

Radcliff, Kentucky – Sonja Skaggs, a beloved member of the Radcliff community, passed away on August 24, 2024. Her son, Anthony Skaggs, has set up a GoFundMe page to assist with the funeral costs, as Sonja did not have any life insurance.

Anthony, expressing the deep loss, shared that his mother was a loving figure who cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. He mentioned, "She loved her family more than anything in this world. Her grandkids were her everything, and she would do anything for them."

The family is currently facing financial difficulties, making the arrangements for Sonja’s funeral more challenging. Anthony reached out on social media, saying, "I’m not one to do these things, but mom didn’t have any kind of life insurance, so times will be even more difficult trying to make arrangements. Anything helps, even if it is just a like and share."

Support from friends and community members has begun to pour in. Many have taken to Facebook to share their condolences and support.

Terry Covas Sr. commented, "I can’t donate anything but I’ll sure share it…gonna miss her on Facebook." Vino Rachi expressed, "My condolences to you and your family, I will keep you in my prayers." Betty June French added, "Condolences, so very sorry."

Others, like Machelle Fields Reynolds, sent prayers, stating, "I’m so very sorry for y’all’s loss sending prayers to you all." Angela Powers DeVore shared, "I’m so sorry. I hadn’t heard of her passing. My love and prayers are with you all." Michael Sanders reflected on Sonja’s impact, saying, "She was a great woman, she is going to be missed a lot."

The GoFundMe campaign has raised $225 of its $1,500 goal, with donations from individuals like Beth Slayton, who contributed $100, and Chelsea Brewer, who donated $50. The family is hopeful that the community will continue to support them during this difficult time.

Those wishing to assist can donate through the GoFundMe page set up by Anthony Skaggs to help cover Sonja Skaggs’ funeral costs. The family appreciates all the support and kindness shown by friends, family, and the community.
