South African Pastor Phillip Mashudu and Wife Elsie Matlou Mashudu Missing After Leaving Bethlehem for Church Conference

Bethlehem, South Africa – Pastor Phillip Mashudu, aged 55, and his wife, Elsie Matlou Mashudu, aged 54, have been reported missing after they left their home in Bethlehem on Friday, August 23, 2024. The couple was traveling to a church conference in Parys, driving a white Mercedes Benz GLS with the registration number ALTAR FS.

The South African Police Service has issued an urgent appeal for information regarding their whereabouts. Concern is growing rapidly as the community comes together to search for the couple. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Bethlehem Detective Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Nel, at 082 526 2717. Alternatively, the public can call Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or send information via the My SAPS App.

The disappearance of the Mashudus has sparked a wave of concern and prayers from the community. Many have taken to Facebook to express their fears and hopes for the couple’s safe return.

Ntha Bee posted, “Lord please protect them,” echoing the sentiments of many who are praying for the couple’s safety.

Tony Govender expressed his frustration, writing, “Eish what’s happening in this country now wasn’t like this before.”

Sindisiwe Mamusa Nhlapo offered a prayer, saying, “Lord Jesus we pray for their safety. Wherever they are please protect them until they’re found in Jesus name amen.”

Rabbeca Mutanga voiced her fears about safety, stating, “They’re kidnapped SA is not safe anymore especially to those who are rich they’re targeted shame hope they’re safe wherever they are.”

George Madimetja Mvundlela also shared concerns, saying, “Noways this people are kidnapped, May God protect and save them against the kidnappers and return to their home safely.”

As the search continues, the community remains hopeful for the safe return of Pastor Phillip Mashudu and his wife, Elsie. The police and community members are working together to ensure their safe recovery.
