South African Police Launch Search for Missing Zimbabwean Mother, Dune Netsai, and Her Two-Year-Old Daughter in Ga-Makgoba Village

Malipsdrift, Limpopo, South Africa – A search operation has been initiated by the South African Police Service in Malipsdrift, outside Lebowakgomo, to locate a missing 41-year-old Zimbabwean national, Dune Netsai, and her two-year-old daughter, Evidence. The incident was reported on Saturday, August 10, 2024, after Dune and her daughter were last seen on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at their residence in Ga-Makgoba Village.

Dune, who is mentally challenged, was discovered missing by her husband upon his return from work. Concerned for their safety, the police are now seeking the public’s assistance in finding the mother and child.

The local community and the broader online community have expressed their concern and hope for the safe return of Dune and her daughter. Neo Wa Makopo posted on Facebook, "May the good lord lead them back to Zimbabwe safely," while Ndhlovu Sfiso Nono added, "May God protect them and bring them back safe."

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Dune and Evidence to contact Captain Lerumo Matabane at 082 414 3345, the #CrimeStop number 08600 10111, or their nearest police station. The police have also recommended using the #MySAPSApp to provide tips anonymously.

As the search continues, the community’s prayers and efforts remain focused on reuniting the missing mother and child with their family.
