Springfield Resident Ashley Jo Doolin Passes Away at 25; Community Mourns Her Loss

Springfield, Ohio – The community of Springfield is mourning the loss of Ashley Jo Doolin, a beloved 25-year-old resident who passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Ashley’s passing has left a significant void in the lives of her family, friends, and church community.

Born on January 13, 1999, in Marysville, Ohio, Ashley was deeply rooted in her faith, a trait that defined much of her life. She was an active member of the Woodstock Free Will Baptist Church, where she played a vital role in various activities, including Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. Her love for gospel music was well-known, and she often shared her talent by singing in church, inspiring others with her devotion.

Ashley is survived by her husband, Joshua Doolin, and their daughter, Emma Lynn Doolin. Her family, including her mother, Cherie Hall, and a host of in-laws, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblings, are left to cherish her memory. Her generosity extended beyond her life as she was an organ donor, continuing to touch lives even after her passing.

The funeral services for Ashley will be held at Vernon Funeral Home in Urbana, Ohio, with a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, August 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The funeral will take place the following day, Friday, August 30, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Carl Hartman. Ashley will be laid to rest at Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield.

On Facebook, numerous friends and community members have expressed their sorrow and shared memories of Ashley. Melinda L. Current wrote, "Ashley was a wonderful young lady. She encouraged the young people in church to sing, she sang with them. For us, losing her is tremendous, but heaven has gained a beautiful angel. We love you, Ashley." Rita Hurst, Phyllis Lockert, and Ellen Hanes, among others, posted prayers for her family, reflecting the deep impact Ashley had on those around her.

Ashley Jo Doolin’s life was a testament to faith, love, and kindness. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
