Stellenbosch Community Comes Together to Find Missing 43-Year-Old Thomas Lawrie Amid Search Efforts

Stellenbosch, Western Cape – The community of Stellenbosch is rallying to support the search for Thomas Lawrie, a 43-year-old man who was reported missing on 11 August 2024. Thomas, who is medically vulnerable, was last seen at Die Boord, Stellenbosch, around 15:00. His disappearance has sparked concern across the town, leading to widespread efforts to locate him.

The Pink Ladies Organization, a well-known non-governmental group focused on finding missing individuals, confirmed on their social media platforms that Thomas Lawrie has been found. The organization extended their gratitude to the South African Police Service (SAPS), Thomas’s family, friends, the community, and all other involved parties, urging the public to respect the family’s privacy during this time.

Genevieve Gerber, a Facebook user, shared her relief and appreciation for the collective efforts, stating, "Thanks to SAPS, family, friends, community and all other role players. Kindly respect the family’s right to privacy."

Thomas was described as having dark brown hair, a beard, and grey/blue eyes, wearing glasses. He was last seen wearing dark-colored or black clothing. The concern for his well-being was heightened due to his medical vulnerability.
