Susan Lynn Whitlow, A Beloved Pianist and Organist, Passes Away

It is with deep sorrow that the community mourns the loss of Susan Lynn Whitlow, affectionately known as Susie, who passed away yesterday. Susan was a cherished member of her community, remembered fondly for her exceptional talent as a pianist and organist in her local church. Her passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew her.

A Life of Music and Faith

Susan grew up surrounded by love and strong Christian values, which were instilled in her by her parents. She was known for her remarkable ability to play the piano and organ, a talent that she often shared during church services. Those who heard her play described her music as filled with grace and devotion, resonating with the love she put into every note.

Fond Memories Shared by Loved Ones

Steve Hopper, Susan’s cousin, expressed his deep sadness on Facebook, saying, "My cousin Susan Lynn Whitlow (Susie) passed away yesterday. I’m just kind of numb this morning. We talked often, thankfully, on Facebook and Messenger. We grew up together and spent a lot of time together as kids. She played the piano and organ at church, and I loved to listen to her play. I have such fond memories. I am thankful we all were raised by Christian parents who instilled in us the importance of a relationship with Christ. I yearn for the sights she’s seeing now. Rest easy, cuz."

Other members of the community also shared their condolences and memories. April Scarlott Barger reminisced, "I miss those WECC days and singing with her at church there, KHCC, and Shively CC. Susie could really play the organ and piano." The outpouring of support on social media highlights the deep impact Susan had on those around her.

A Legacy That Lives On

Though Susan is no longer with us, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her music, faith, and the warmth she brought to her community will not be forgotten. The community’s thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
