Toledo, Ohio – The Toledo community is mourning the loss of 51-year-old Thomas Karnowski, who tragically passed away following a motorcycle accident on Thursday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Laskey Road near Custer Drive, according to reports from the Toledo Police Department.
Mr. Karnowski was traveling westbound on Laskey Road when his motorcycle collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by 76-year-old Louise Grubinski. The accident took place as Ms. Grubinski attempted to make a left turn onto Custer Drive, resulting in the collision.
Emergency responders were quickly on the scene, and Mr. Karnowski was rushed to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he sadly succumbed to his injuries. Ms. Grubinski also sustained injuries but was treated at the scene for less severe wounds by the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department.
The crash remains under investigation by the Toledo Police Department, with authorities working to determine the exact cause of the accident. It is not yet clear whether any charges will be filed, as investigators continue to assess factors such as speed and driver error.
