Tonya Ojaniemi’s Unexpected Passing at 38 Leaves Duluth Community Mourning, Fundraiser Launched to Support Daughter Gabby

Duluth, MN – The Duluth community is reeling from the sudden and tragic death of Tonya Ojaniemi, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 38. Her untimely passing has left her family and friends devastated, especially her daughter, Gabby Ojaniemi, who is just 16 years old.

In response to this heartbreaking loss, Barbara Jean Ojaniemi has organized a fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses and provide financial support for Gabby’s future. As of today, $195 has been raised out of a $10,000 goal through the contributions of four donors. The Ojaniemi family has expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support during this incredibly difficult time.

Friends and loved ones have taken to Facebook to share their grief and offer condolences. Misty Mishler posted, "Ooh Tonya Ojaniemi, I can’t even believe it. My heart is so heavy, broken. I will miss you every day, my sister forever. May you rest in peace with dad and watch over us. Love and miss you already." Ashley Beck responded with, "Aww really sorry to hear about Tonya, Misty. Thinking of you." Kristie Ketola added, "Oh no, so sorry, sending love." Kathy Kmiech Kuehling echoed the sentiments, saying, "Oh no, this breaks my heart, I’m so sorry Misty, and to Gabby and her family."

The Ojaniemi family is currently focused on making arrangements and coping with their loss. Any assistance provided through the fundraiser will go towards easing the financial burden of this tragedy and ensuring that Gabby has the support she needs in the future.
