Toronto and Haliburton Communities Mourn the Tragic Death of Benji Covant at Camp Northland-B’nai Brith

Benji Covant, Toronto, Ontario – The Jewish communities of Toronto and Haliburton, Ontario, are in mourning following the sudden and tragic death of Benji Covant at Camp Northland-B’nai Brith. The young boy, beloved son of Neal and Lisa Covant, passed away unexpectedly due to anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction, during a summer camping event.

Benji Covant, the cheerful and adorable elder brother, died during the Extermination Summer Camping at Camp Northland. The incident has left his parents, Neal and Lisa Covant of Thornhill, Ontario, heartbroken and devastated. Lisa Covant, a well-known event planner with Treasured Events, is receiving an outpouring of support from the community during this difficult time.

Law enforcement agencies responded to a medical emergency at Camp Northland, where they found Benji in critical condition. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead on the scene. The unexpected loss has sent shockwaves through the Jewish community, prompting many to offer prayers and condolences to the grieving family.

No fundraising account has been established yet for the Covant family, but the community continues to support them with prayers and kind words. The loss of young Benji Covant is a stark reminder of the dangers of severe allergic reactions and the importance of preparedness and awareness in such environments.
