Toronto Realtor Yuk-Ying "Anita" Mui Found Dead in Parry Sound, Ontario – Community Reacts with Grief and Caution

Toronto, Ontario – Yuk-Ying "Anita" Mui, a well-known real estate agent from the Toronto area, was tragically found dead on August 12, 2024, after being reported missing on August 9. Her disappearance and the subsequent discovery of her remains have sent shockwaves through the community, sparking grief and concern among those who knew her and those who work in similar professions.

According to York Regional Police, Anita Mui’s charred remains were found in the Parry Sound area three days after she went missing. On the day of her disappearance, she left her home around 9:00 AM and last communicated with her family at 11:00 AM. Her white 2024 Mercedes-Benz SUV was found the next day near Finch and Warden Avenue in Toronto.

The investigation into her death revealed that three teenagers, two from Toronto and one from Whitby, were found in possession of some of her belongings. However, as of now, no charges directly related to her death have been filed.

The tragic news has deeply affected the community, with many taking to social media to express their sorrow and to urge others in similar professions to be cautious.

David Payne shared on Facebook, "Wow, this is pretty sad day for real estate in Canada. This lovely Markham realtor was ‘targeted’ and ‘murdered,’ and was then transferred north in a cargo van. To any of my friends in real estate and our working in sales, please be careful, please let people know where you are off to, especially when navigating around new people you might not be too familiar with."

Cindy Herrick also expressed her sadness, saying, "So sad. At least they might get closure. Not like Lindsay Buziak’s family. Stay safe when showing houses."

Anne Dk added her concerns, "I read that there were teenagers, and young adults involved. Stay safe."

Charity Rose offered practical advice from her experience in healthcare, noting, "In healthcare when we do home visits we use SafetyLine… it’s an app that you sign in to, leave details of the visit… set the duration of the visit, and if you fail to check in…"

Laura Harbottle summed up the community’s sentiment with a simple but powerful word: "Heartbreaking."

As the investigation continues, the real estate community and those close to Anita Mui remain on edge, hoping for justice and emphasizing the importance of safety in their profession. The tragic loss of Yuk-Ying "Anita" Mui serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that can sometimes accompany seemingly routine tasks.
