Tragic Discovery – 63-Year-Old Gerry Wayne Brazel Found Dead After Going Missing on Lake Moultrie, Summerville

Summerville, South Carolina – The search for 63-year-old Gerry Wayne Brazel, a missing boater from Summerville, ended tragically on Sunday afternoon, August 18, 2024, when his body was discovered on Lake Moultrie. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office confirmed the discovery, which was made at approximately 3:08 p.m.

Mr. Brazel’s disappearance prompted a large-scale search operation that involved multiple agencies, including the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol, Berkeley County EMS, the Moncks Corner Police Department, and North Berkeley Fire and Rescue.
