Dearborn, Michigan – The community is mourning the loss of two young lives after a devastating high-speed car crash early Sunday morning. The victims have been identified as Fouad Sobh, a young man from Dearborn, and Homaira Ahmadi, a 20-year-old woman from Garden City. The tragic incident occurred around 2 a.m. near Michigan Avenue and Southfield Freeway.
According to the Dearborn Police Department, the crash involved a Dodge Charger that was traveling eastbound on Michigan Avenue at an extremely high speed. The 18-year-old driver, who was from Dearborn, lost control of the vehicle, which then collided with a tree. The impact was fatal for both Sobh and Ahmadi.
Four other occupants in the vehicle, all aged between 15 and 20, were also injured in the crash. The young woman, Ahmadi, was transported to a local hospital but, sadly, succumbed to her injuries. The remaining passengers were taken to the hospital as well, with one reported to be in critical condition.
