Baldwinsville, New York – The Oswego County community is mourning the loss of 22-year-old Austin Grigsby, who tragically lost his life in a high-speed motorcycle crash on Friday, August 9, 2024. The accident occurred on State Route 481 in the Town of Schroeppel, when Grigsby, riding his 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle, lost control while attempting to navigate the off-ramp at exit 14.
According to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at around 10:32 p.m. Grigsby was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when he collided with a guard rail. Emergency services, including members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, Phoenix Fire Department, Pennellville Volunteer Fire Department, Menter Ambulance, Fulton Police Department, and the New York State Police, responded to the scene. Despite their life-saving efforts, Grigsby was pronounced dead at the scene.
