Tragic Loss of Jacob Outhouse, Souris, Prince Edward Island Resident, in Fatal Car Accident

Souris, Prince Edward Island – The community is mourning the untimely death of Jacob Outhouse, a well-loved resident of Souris, Prince Edward Island, who tragically passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, due to a car accident. Jacob, a dedicated member of the 36th Signal Regiment and a former hockey player, was known for his exceptional commitment both on and off the ice.

Jacob Outhouse, born on June 20, 2001, was an integral part of the Souris community. He played for the Kings County Kings hockey team, where his skill and teamwork left a lasting impression on his coaches and teammates. His respectful demeanor and strong work ethic were qualities that extended beyond the rink, earning him admiration from all who knew him.

Jacob’s educational journey began at École La-Belle-Cloche before he transferred to Souris High School, where he graduated in 2019. Known for his enthusiasm for learning and active participation in school activities, Jacob’s decision to join the armed forces was a testament to his dedication and sense of duty. He served as a Signal Operator with the 36th Signal Regiment, a role he approached with the same integrity that characterized all aspects of his life.

Jacob is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Cindy Outhouse, his sister Symonne, his twin brother Jesse, and many other family members who hold his memory dear. His passing has left a profound void in the lives of his loved ones and the wider community.

Expressions of grief and condolence have flooded social media, with many taking to Facebook to share their memories and extend their sympathies. Steve from Hynes Paving Maniacs reflected, "It is with a heavy heart and teary eyes that we say goodbye to a great young man in Jacob Outhouse. I had the privilege of coaching Jacob for four seasons. Jacob always came to the arena with a smile and a great work ethic. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends, particularly Ronnie, Cindy, Symonne, and Jesse. RIP Jacob, you will never be forgotten."

Jacob’s life will be celebrated during a visitation at Dingwell Funeral Home on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 5 to 8 PM. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Souris on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., followed by interment in the church cemetery.

Jacob Outhouse will be remembered as a young man of great promise, whose life, though tragically cut short, left a lasting legacy of kindness, dedication, and love.
