Tragic Loss of Richmond Resident Helenia Bocook – Family Seeks Community Support for Funeral and Relocation Expenses

Richmond, VA – The community mourns the unexpected loss of Helenia Bocook, a beloved mother of four, who passed away on August 26, 2024. Helenia was known for her kind-hearted nature and willingness to help others, even when she had little to give herself.

Her daughter, Sylvanna Bocook, has started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the expenses of Helenia’s funeral and assist in relocating her two youngest siblings and grandmother, who lived with Helenia. The family currently lacks the means to remain in their current home and plans to relocate out of state to be closer to other family members.

Sylvanna expressed deep gratitude for the support received so far, stating, "We are all eternally grateful for everyone’s sympathies and contributions." The GoFundMe campaign has raised $1,050 of its $10,000 goal, with contributions from twelve donors.

Friends and family have shared their condolences and support on Facebook. Annavlys Garcia wrote, "Anything anyone can contribute will be helpful, even a share. Thank you." Donations can be made via GoFundMe or directly through payment options shared by the family.

Helenia’s death has left a significant void in the lives of her children and parents, Cindy and CW. The family is appealing to the community for support to help them navigate this challenging time and rebuild their lives after the loss of their cherished mother and daughter.
