The accident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. when Kotzen’s motorcycle collided with an Isuzu pickup truck driven by 76-year-old Larry James.
According to Metro Nashville Police, the incident happened as James attempted to make a left turn into his driveway from the westbound lane of Clarksville Pike. Kotzen, who was traveling eastbound, collided with the truck while cresting a slight hill along the roadway. Eyewitnesses report that James was turning at a slow pace when the collision occurred.
Although no signs of impairment were noted at the scene, police have identified James’s failure to yield as a potential cause of the accident.
