Tragic Murder-Suicide Outside HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital Claims Lives of Zelica Martucci and Philip Martucci

Tampa, Florida – A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, when authorities discovered the bodies of 67-year-old Zelica Martucci and 75-year-old Philip Martucci in the parking lot of HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the deaths were the result of an apparent murder-suicide.

Deputies responded to a call at approximately 6:37 p.m. regarding two individuals who were found unresponsive in the hospital’s parking lot located at 6001 Webb Road. Upon arrival, they discovered Zelica Martucci with fatal gunshot wounds and Philip Martucci, who had reportedly shot himself in the head.

Both individuals were identified as residents of Tampa, Florida. Authorities have reassured the public that this was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the event continues.
