Zachary, a resident of Newfoundland, was last seen on Sunday afternoon when he left to hike Mount Smuts alone. His disappearance prompted an extensive search involving Kananaskis Emergency Services, the Calgary Police Department, and his employer, Cenovus Energy. His grey Toyota Tacoma, with a bicycle rack attached, was discovered in the parking lot at Mount Smuts, leading to the launch of a rescue operation.
The hiking community and friends of Zachary’s family have been anxiously following updates. In an earlier Facebook post, Kal Sadra, a friend of the family, shared the heartbreaking news of Zachary’s disappearance, urging everyone to send positive energy for his safe return. Unfortunately, as the search continued, hopes began to fade.
Tamara Leisle Keller, responding to Kal’s post, inquired about updates, while Wendy Contant expressed her condolences upon hearing the tragic news, writing, "I just heard the very sad news… so sorry, condolences to family and friends."
