Lyons, Indiana – A serious accident at the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza 2024 at Wagler Motorsports Park on Friday, August 23, 2024, left six people injured, with one individual in critical condition. The incident occurred when a racing jeep veered off the track and crashed into a tent occupied by multiple people, prompting a swift response from local emergency services.
The Lyons Police Department, along with fire crews, multiple ambulances, and an air ambulance, responded to the scene at 4425 W 300 S, Lyons, IN. The accident resulted in one person being airlifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition, while five others were transported to hospitals for further treatment.
In light of the accident, Wagler Motorsports Park announced the cancellation of the remaining Friday events, stating, "We are currently working through this with the families and staff and have concluded Friday night events.
