Columbus, Ohio – A tragic shooting on the Southeast Side of Columbus has claimed the life of 13-year-old Kamarion Woody, leaving the community in shock and grief. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when Columbus police officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 4000 block of Monmouth Court around 4:12 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Kamarion suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to a local hospital by first responders, Kamarion’s injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead early Friday morning at 1:50 a.m. The case has been classified as a homicide, intensifying the community’s sense of loss over the senseless act of violence that took the life of such a young and promising individual.

The Columbus Police Department has initiated an intensive investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
