The news of Troy’s passing was shared on their class’s Facebook page, with the alumni expressing deep sorrow and solidarity during this difficult time. "Class of 1989, we have lost two classmates this past week," the post read, followed by a heartfelt prayer: "I pray that serenity reigns over their families."

Troy Casper, a beloved member of the Brainerd community, was remembered fondly by his classmates and family. Kim Olson, a classmate, and author, wrote a touching tribute on Facebook, capturing the collective grief of the alumni. Shari Ann, another classmate, also shared her profound loss, expressing her deep appreciation for Troy and his brother Tyler. “The security, safety, support, and love that you mean to your family is what you mean, Troy,” she wrote, highlighting the significant impact he had on those around him.

The loss has also deeply affected Troy’s family. His son, Hunter Casper, posted an emotional message on Facebook, stating, "My brother Mitchell Casper and I could have never asked for a better father. He blessed us with so much."
