Râmnicu Vâlcea, Romania – Iryna Glibko, a prominent Ukrainian handball player, has passed away at the age of 34. Glibko, who was a celebrated athlete for SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea and the Ukrainian national team, died on August 28, 2024, following a battle with cancer.
Born on February 18, 1990, in Odesa, Ukraine, Glibko’s handball career was marked by significant achievements. Her agility and strategic play earned her acclaim in various national and international tournaments. She played for several top-tier teams, including Galytchanka Lviv and CSM București, before joining SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea in 2017.
