Unsolved Mystery in Slave Lake – What Happened to Joel Aaron Judd?

Slave Lake, Alberta – The case of Joel Aaron Judd, who has been missing since December 29, 2019, remains an unsolved mystery that continues to haunt the community. Joel, an Indigenous man from Slave Lake, was last seen in the early hours of that day, and despite extensive efforts by law enforcement and his family, there has been no trace of him since.

Joel was 27 years old at the time of his disappearance, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a heavy build, brown eyes, and black hair. On the night he vanished, he was wearing a black hoodie, cowboy boots, jeans, and a black and grey cap with an orange logo.

On December 28, 2019, Joel was at Dom’s Alehouse in Slave Lake. Around 3:00 a.m. on December 29, he left the establishment in a cab with a male and a female, heading to the Sawridge Inn. The three individuals were later seen at a residence on Whitetail Way, where police subsequently recovered Joel’s jacket. However, Joel himself has not been seen or heard from since that night.

The Slave Lake RCMP continues to investigate the case, urging anyone with information to come forward. The case reference number is 202015563, and tips can be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The community remains desperate for answers. A social media post from the group "Someone Saw Something" in Slave Lake asks, "What happened to Joel Aaron Judd?" This question echoes the ongoing pain and uncertainty felt by those who knew and loved him.

As time passes, the need for information grows more urgent. The case of Joel Aaron Judd serves as a reminder of the unresolved disappearances that continue to affect Indigenous communities across Canada.
