Urgent Search Continues for Missing 14-Year-Old Eva Brown in Winchburgh, West Lothian

Winchburgh, West Lothian – The search for 14-year-old Eva Brown, who has been missing since Friday, 9 August 2024, continues as police express growing concern for her safety. Eva, a resident of Winchburgh, was last seen leaving a family member’s home, telling them she planned to stay with friends in Glasgow. However, she has not been in contact since Sunday, 11 August 2024.

Eva is described as 5ft 6ins tall, with a slim build and medium-length brown hair. She was last seen wearing a grey top, grey joggers, black trainers, and carrying a black backpack. She is known to frequent areas such as Glasgow City Centre, Aberdeen, Mallaig, West Lothian, and Whitley Bay in Northumbria.

Inspector Richard Homewood and Sergeant Chris Ashley of Police Scotland have both expressed deep concern for Eva’s wellbeing due to her age and the duration of her disappearance. Despite misinformation circulating online that Eva has been found, authorities confirm that she is still missing, and extensive searches are ongoing to locate her.

The situation has sparked numerous reactions on social media. Nikki Gibb expressed frustration at the spread of false information, stating, "People on here saying she has been found when the post literally says that it’s misinformation and she hasn’t – people would rather believe a post from a random than a statement from the actual police." Similarly, Lynne Reid reiterated, "If Police saying ‘still not been found’…..SHE’S STILL NOT BEEN FOUND’!!"

As authorities work to trace Eva, they are urging anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1258 of Tuesday, 13 August 2024. They also plead with Eva to reach out and let them know she is safe.

The local community remains on high alert, sharing posts and spreading awareness in the hope of finding Eva and ensuring her safe return. The police continue to liaise with colleagues across multiple regions as the search intensifies.
