Urgent Search Underway for Missing 15-Year-Old Nyla Ovita Belingchee in Pinon, Arizona

Pinon, Arizona – The Navajo Police Department has issued an urgent appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of 15-year-old Nyla Ovita Belingchee, who was reported missing from her residence in Pinon, Arizona. Nyla was last seen on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m. Her parents discovered her absence early on Monday morning, August 19, 2024, when they were waking up the children for school.

Nyla, who has a learning disability, was recently tracked on foot along Navajo Route 4. She is described as 4’8” tall, weighing 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She has a distinctive boy-like haircut and a scar on the left side of her head, near the hairline. Nyla wears prescription eyeglasses and is known to be wearing white Nike shoes.

The Navajo Police Department has entered Nyla into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and is urging anyone with information to contact the Chinle District at (928) 674-2111/2112 immediately.

Community members and authorities are deeply concerned for Nyla’s safety, given her vulnerability due to her learning disability. Time is of the essence, and any assistance in locating Nyla is critical.
